We opened our first shop in Woodingdean Brighton in June 2014 and since then we have been lucky enough to get to know a lot of local pets – and their owners.
Woodingdean is a great place to live, work and shop in. It’s an amazing place for pets and wildlife too. We are particularly proud to have Rogers Wildlife Rescue based on Downs Valley Road, Woodingdean . Roger and Fleur Musselle now care for around 1,500 ‘creatures’ each year from small birds to hedgehogs. You can find out more about Rogers Wildlife Rescue and how to contribute to their amazing work by visiting their website.
There are also a fantastic range of dog walks you can do in and around Woodingdean, some of these have been logged by local people using - Map My Walk.
Woodingdean folk are also extremely supportive of wildlife – we sell a large range of bird feeders and seeds/nuts/fat balls and we are often asked how people can encourage birds and animals to visit their garden. We often suggest that people visit https://ww2.rspb.org.uk/makeahomeforwildlife/givenatureahomeinyourgarden/20wayspack/ to download a pack that gives lots of ideas and activities for children on encouraging animals into your garden.
One of our favourites is the ‘give your mower a rest’ activity - admittedly not for everyone but picking an area to go wild in your garden is certainly fairly simple and can actually improve the appearance of your garden as well as save you time!
